Who we are

Manchester Grief Coach is a trading style of High Peak Pro Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11682424, VAT registration number 369 0948 52). Throughout these terms, "we", "us", and "our" refer to High Peak Pro Ltd; "you" and "your" refer to the person booking or attending the course.

The course

We run a live, online, six-week coaching course for adults working through loss. Sessions run once a week and last around an hour. The course runs in two formats, and these terms cover both: in a small fixed group, or the same six-week course delivered one to one. Full details of format, cohort dates, and content are set out on our How It Works page, which forms part of these terms.

New group cohorts start on set dates and run to a fixed weekly schedule. Everyone joins together at the first session and stays with that same cohort for all six weeks. Once a cohort has started, we don't add new participants partway through. One-to-one start dates and session times are agreed with you directly.

One-to-one is the same six-week course delivered privately, not open-ended or ad-hoc coaching. We don't offer standalone hourly sessions.

This course is for adults aged 18 and over. By booking, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

Coaching, not therapy or a crisis service

This course is grief coaching, not therapy, counselling, or medical treatment, and it is not a substitute for clinical care. It's forward-focused and practical, and is designed for people whose grief is painful but still moving, even slowly or unevenly. If it looks like you need more support than coaching can offer, we'll say so plainly and help you find the right place to go.

We also don't run coaching at the same time as clinical care. If you're currently working with a therapist, counsellor or equivalent practitioner, we'll ask you to finish that work before joining a course rather than doing both at once.

This is not a crisis or emergency service and isn't staffed or available outside scheduled sessions. If you're in crisis, please contact the Samaritans on 116 123 (free, 24/7) or your GP.

Booking and payment

All prices shown on this site include VAT at the prevailing rate.

These terms cover both the group course and the same course delivered one to one. Where a clause refers to a cohort, it applies to group bookings only.

Group course places are booked and paid for on this site. The cost is shown at the time of booking and is payable in full at that point. Your place is confirmed once payment has gone through, and you'll receive a payment confirmation followed by a welcome email with joining instructions.

One-to-one places aren't booked on this site. We'll speak with you first; if we both agree the course is right for you, we'll send you a payment link, and the course is paid in full before the first session. Nothing is payable for that conversation.

Payment is taken securely by Stripe in both cases; we don't store your card details.

Bookings for a given cohort close once that cohort is within 48 hours of its start time, to give us time to prepare the group. Cohorts with no remaining availability are shown as full. One-to-one start dates are agreed directly with you.

Cancellations, refunds, and rescheduling

If we decide not to go ahead

Coaching isn't right for everyone, and we may conclude that a course isn't the right thing for you at this point, including where you're already working with a therapist or counsellor. If we decide not to go ahead with your place at any time before your course starts, you'll receive a full refund of everything you've paid, whatever the timings set out below say.

Your right to change your mind (14-day cooling-off period)

As this is an online booking, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of booking under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, without giving a reason. To exercise this right, email us at steve@manchestergriefcoach.com before the 14-day period ends.

If your course starts within that 14-day period and you ask us to begin providing it before the cooling-off period ends, you're agreeing to waive your cancellation right once the course has been fully delivered. If you cancel after sessions have started but before the course is complete, we'll refund you in proportion to the sessions not yet delivered.

Cancelling outside the cooling-off period

Once your 14-day cooling-off period has ended, you can still cancel your booking up to 30 days before your course starts for a full refund. Cancellations made after that point are billed in full: for a group course because your place has been reserved in a small, fixed-size group that can't generally be filled at short notice, and for one-to-one because the sessions have been set aside for you in Steve's diary.

To cancel, ask about moving to a later cohort, or rearrange one-to-one sessions, email us at steve@manchestergriefcoach.com as early as possible.

If we need to cancel or reschedule (a cohort because too few people have booked, or any session due to illness), we'll let you know as soon as we can and offer you a full refund or a place on the next available cohort, or a rearranged session if you're working one to one, whichever you'd prefer.

Your participation

The course works best, and works safely for everyone taking part, when participants engage in good faith. By joining, you agree to:

• Attend sessions with your camera active and giving the session your full attention, so far as you're able. These are live sessions, not recordings.
• Treat your coach, and anyone else taking part, with respect.
• Let us know as soon as possible if you can't attend a session.

On a group course, you also agree to keep what's shared by other group members confidential, and to make sure the discussion can't be overheard or seen by anyone else where you're joining from, to help protect everyone's confidentiality.

We may ask a participant to leave the course, without refund, if their conduct is abusive, disruptive, or puts the safety or wellbeing of anyone taking part at risk.

Confidentiality

We keep what you share with us confidential. The exception is where we believe you may be a danger to yourself or others, or that a serious crime may be committed. In those cases we may contact the relevant authorities as appropriate. This is standard practice across coaching and support services.

Intellectual property

Course materials, including session content and worksheets, are the intellectual property of High Peak Pro Ltd or its licensors. The STILL Method framework used in the course was developed by Stuart Thompson and is used here under licence. It is not our intellectual property. You're welcome to use course materials for your own personal benefit, but you may not record, reproduce, share, or distribute course materials or sessions without the relevant rights holder's prior written permission.

Our liability to you

We provide the course with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't lawfully be limited or excluded.

Subject to that, we won't be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the course is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Your data

Information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal data is set out in our Privacy Notice, which forms part of these terms.

Complaints

If you're not happy with something about the course, please email us at steve@manchestergriefcoach.com and let us know. We take complaints seriously and will do our best to resolve them fairly and promptly.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the course or how we run it. The version in force at the time you book is the one that applies to your booking. We'll post the current version on this page with an updated date at the top.
